As a child, long ago,
a spirit with Father above; I spent my time listening to His word as He taught of peace, and love. Then one day He called me forth, He sent me here to Earth. To join my family here, below, upon my day of birth. I spent my youth learning things like how to love and care. I learned to work, and how to play, I learned to give, to share. As an adult, with wife and kids, I had to learn to teach; So my own kids would learn, and grow, their potential for to reach. I give my thanks to God above for all I have in life: Sisters, parents, grandchildren, children, and my wife. ________________________________________________ 11/24/2015 Criss F. Rosenlof Once again the flowers bloom, and Cupid makes his rounds.
Your smile brings light to the room, your beauty, it astounds. I love you more than I love life, and so with this bouquet; I pledge my heart to you, my wife, for ever and a day. -------------------------------------------------------- Written 2/6/2015 for a card and bouquet for Valentine's Day. What the world needs now is love.
Love is something from above. Love is sweet, love is kind Love is sometimes hard to find. Although it's sometimes hard to love You'll get blessings from above. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wrote this when I was 7 years old (second grade) for a "Reflections" contest. It took Honorable Mention. How did it happen? When did she grow?
How did I miss it? I’ll never know. Now she’s in college. Now at her job. What happened to toys, those thing-a-ma-bobs? She used to play dollies, Barbie and Ken. She used to play tea-time now and again. Now she’s a mommy. Now she’s full grown. No longer here, now she’s out on her own. How did it happen? When did she grow? How did I miss it? I’ll never know. -Criss F. Rosenlof 8/30/2013 ------------------------------------------------------- I was sitting here, thinking about my grandchildren when this poem wrote itself. Love has blossomed, bloomed so sweet
Romance there begat A strong connection none can beat, Twixt Kelli and Matt. Their love has grown and brought them here Their lives to intertwine As man and wife they now go forth Wrapped in joy divine. Forward now they will go on Two becoming more Their children will complete the scene A fam’ly to adore. So, Kelli, Matt, I wish for you Harmonious bliss Joy in marriage, easily found Sealed with loving kiss. _____________________________________________ Written 8/13/2013 for my friend Kelli as she gets married. I know that life's hard lately,
I know that you are stressed. The world's weight presses on you, You're saddened and depressed. Your life has given lemons, Thrown curves and beat you down. It's stolen your smile from you And left you with a frown. And so I send you flowers To let you know I care. To know that I support you, And always will be there. I love you madly, deeply; I'm your's eternally. We'll take what life throws at us Together, you and me. ____________________________________________ LeAnn's been having a rough patch lately, and so I wrote this and sent it to her with some flowers and had them delivered to her at work. Eighteen years ago was born
A son to mom and dad A blessed day, September morn, Came forth the little lad. Throughout the years, the boy has grown, Grown stronger day by day. And as he did, his spirit’s shone, At work and when at play. And now a man, his childhood done He’s doing what he can Now moving on, his school-race run A military man. In times of ease, and times of strife, He stands out in the crowd Not just in school, but in his life He’s made his parents proud. ______________________________________________________ Written for my son Spencer for graduation from High School. I’ve said it many times before,
you prob’ly know then, what’s in store. You are the very best, it’s true; No other mom’s as good as you! You’ve raised three children, raised ‘em good; They’ve turned out like you hoped they would. I know there’s still time left to go, and we don’t know how they’ll grow; But knowing how you’ve done so far, I know how high you’ve raised the bar! All in all, I mean to say, please have a happy Mother’s Day! |
