days morph into years;
Time flies by so swiftly
as adulthood nears.
Once a happy child,
soon a woman grown;
Leaving home and family
to make it on her own.
Love turns into heartache,
heartache back to love;
looking for that one man
sent from heav'n above.
Marriage and a family,
make her happy home;
'Till one day her own girl
sets out on her own.
Minutes turn to hours,
days morph into years;
The cycle of a lifetime
repeated through the years.

I wrote this for my oldest daughter when she was 16 (2008). She was at a girls camp,
and we parents were supposed to "write a letter" to our daughter for them to
read on their last day there. I sat down to write a letter, and got a poem. Go
figure.
